Common Candle & Health Terms Explained

True to Lilies & Lace Candle Co.’s purpose of simple, natural and safe, all of our products are vegan and cruelty-free.  
 
Below are some other common health claims and what they mean so you can make informed decisions about the products that you buy. 
 

Vegan: Vegan products contain absolutely no animal products or animal-derived ingredients. 

Toxin-free: Toxin-free products do not contain harmful ingredients that are potentially toxic, carcinogenic or poisonous ingredient. 

Phthalate-free: Phthalates, used to carry scent and help scents linger longer have been known to affect the reproductive system of laboratory animals. Phthalate-free products do not contain these chemicals. 

Mutagen-free: Mutagens are chemicals or physical agents that can change our genetic makeup in adverse ways. Mutagen-free products do not contain mutagens, which can mutate DNA and contribute to disease. 

Cruelty-free: Cruelty-free products are never tested on animals.  

Carcinogen-free: Carcinogens are known substances that promote the growth of cancerous cells in the body. Carcinogen-free products do not contain any known carcinogens.
